Local Secundaria school choices?

Ted here, from the newly arrived Rooneys. We are loving Guanajuato. And everyone is sooo friendly and helpful.

Does anybody know if there is a good public school for jr. high age in Guanajuato? Or a not-too-expensive private school. We have a 12 and a 14-year-old. We will be interviewing tomorrow at Instituto Guanajuato. Which we have heard great things about, but the price of attending is a bit up there for us. The fact is, the less we spend the longer we can afford to stay here. We are trying to strike the balance between going for what is right for us and being fiscally responsible if you know what I mean ;-) So, if, for example, there is a public school with a healthy welcoming environment, that might be the best bet for us.
