lizards
I was expecting to see native lizards here in GTO, but have seen none at all (with exception of a man at embajdoras with 2 giant pet iguanas).
Anybody else seen any? I'd love to have some in my garden if there are nonpoisonous native species I could buy and release. (esp if scorpions are part of their diet) |

RE: lizards
Well, there are lizards here, we see them on the back wall of our patio downstairs. They're a little smaller than the alligator lizards I see in Sacramento, CA, but a little larger than say, a blue belly. Can't comment on their diet specifically, and I have yet to see anyone selling herps of any sort in town. I've only seen a few scorpions here, tiny dark guys with the 'skinny claw, beefy tail' that I've been told are the type to avoid, though I doubt they could do serious damage to a healthy adult (hopefully those more knowledgable re the local wildlife will correct me if I'm wrong). Our lizards are too wary/fast/high up on the wall to consider mounting a trapping projet, but I've seen them on the brush at the side of the road that leads downhill from Pozuelos...
