CFE bills
I heard that CFE was going to stop distributing their bills on paper. I'm OK with this, because it will save some trees.
But, how do you know how much you owe them? You go to https://app.cfe.mx/Aplicaciones/CCFE/Recibos/Registro/ and create an account. After giving them a user ID, password, and your email address, they'll send you a verification email. After that, you supply some information from your latest bill; the service #, amount owing, and the name of the person. The great thing about it is, the name of that person doesn't have to be you. If you're a renter, it's probably your landlord's name. This isn't a problem, as long as you pay. |

RE: CFE bills
I tried using that a year ago and always had a terrible time inserting the number of the medidors so didn't use it. I went the Blvd Gto on Monday as they told me to do last week. Supposedly the missing account would have the info so I could pay the bill. But it didn't. Maybe later in the day. I talked with a man inside. Easy now. Not hundreds of people like in the past. He knew what I was trying to do and I understood about 49% of what he said. There is a new way to do this. Since August there is now a way to do it on a cell phone. I'm not crazy about that. I use my cell for calling and playing Solitaire while waiting. But I decided that I would download CFEcontigo to open that possibility. I had a horrible time working on it since it turns out that Google wants to control my life and my phone. Not able to get it from Google playstore. There's another CFE app but it's not for regular users. Eventually I found out that Google had blocked any app downloads from anywhere other than their playstore, using my phone. I managed to undo that and found a download off of a CFE twitter account. It works well. It wants to default to paying with a credit card so the next thing I'll do is change that to a debit card payment. Yesterday I got all the CFE bills for everyone in Penolera. I got the one that has a credit, but again nothing from the other medidor. CFE has said that they are discontinuing the paper bills. It would be hard to know since so many of them never get delivered.

RE: CFE bills
Thanks for the heads up. I finally got around to creating an account with CFE. After jumping through a few hoops (no CFE, a period in my password is NOT a "space"), I got into my account only to discover that the most relevant piece of information for me was missing: the amount I have in excess of what I owe, i.e my account balance.
Furthermore, the most recent "history" of payments is last May. I've given them more money since, especially the excess (because I don't want to go up to the office too often), but none of that shows. So I had to pass by there today to get the most basic info that neither their machines nor their web site shows. Their system needs work. Lots of it. |
