donde esta mi telefono
I just learned about this trick this morning, and I think it's pretty cool.
If you misplace your cell phone (and who among us hasn't?) you can go to Google, and type in "donde esta mi telefono".
Google will then show you where your phone is on a map, and give you the option of making it ring. At full volume.

RE: donde esta mi telefono
Yes, this works great unless you've turned your phone off. In that case, of course, it won't ring. Nor will the mapping work. So my advice is never to turn one's phone off, except briefly when a reboot is required. For the same reason, keep your use of Airplane Mode (Modo Avión) to a minimum.

RE: donde esta mi telefono
I spend days loading software on my phone so Google can't find me or my phone or my contacts or my relatives or my buying habits or my favorite restaurants or my banks, or how much money I have or how much money I spend or who I talk to and for how long or how much I walk or drive every day or where I shop and how long I stay there or what friends I visit, or, or, or, or, or .......

If I lose my phone, I'll just buy another one anyway because they are all cheap Androids. I can't stand Google or their spying but I'm glad someone finally found a bit of usefulness for their climbing into everyone's hip pocket.

In fact not only can I not stand Google, I can't stand the fact that there is no reality anymore. Young, beautiful couples I see all across Latin America sitting across from each other having a romantic candlelight dinner, both of them buried with their face in their phone and they never look up for the entire meal. With every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, in physics or with phones - sure there are a few positive features but today pick pockets move freely and robberies occur with no witnesses on subways because everyone is looking at the phone. And it's world wide, you can't cross the street in Manhattan without getting run into because everyone's head is in their phone. Entire restaurants have the entire patronage with everyone having bowed heads. There is no reason for travel and no world to see any longer because no matter where you go, there's nothing to see or no one there to talk to, not even you are there - only the phone.
