Herb Seed
I forgot to bring some basil seed with me to Guanajuato. It probably isn't legal to do so anyway, but now I need to know where to purchase either some basil seeds (and maybe some others, if possible) or find an actual basil plant. Does anyone know of a source for herb seed or plants?

Thanks, Ken

RE: Herb Seed
We bought some potted herbs (cilantro, oregano and mint) at the Embajadoras market one Sunday afternoon. Not sure if they have basil and I am afraid I cannot help you with the seeds. Good luck.

There are a number of types of basil available and you may have noticed the albahaca plants in the doors of many tiendas -- for good luck I've been told. Besides the market at Embajadora for plants the Home Depot in Leon has a rotating selection of plants and seeds and there are several viveros around town and on the road to Leon.

Inexpensive basil plants are available upstairs in Embajadoras Market. Seeds are sometimes available in the garden section at MEGA. When available, probably a more expensive option.

RE: Herb Seed
Wonder what basil seeds are used for ? I know basil plants are grown for its fresh laves and for good luck!! When you are away from home, it is difficult to find out places where they sell such unimportant things like herb seeds which may be very important for us!! Even I if don?t take some common items which are freely available in the market, I make it a point to carry these small, important things with me so that I won?t have trouble having to find them in a strange place!!
