If you can't find the answer here, try the Facebook group "On the Road in Mexico", which is full of insurance, restaurant and real estate ads but also has some people very versed in the area you are interested in.

You might talk to the folks at Escuela Mexicana on Portreros. They used to run tours over there, and they may be able to connect you with the guy that used to drive for them.
