DB's latest rant
Gringolandians, not True Expats, resent anyone who comes onto their Fantasy Island (See Lord of the Flies) and who do not submit to their delusions and fantasies of what "Life in Mexico" is like according to their Gringolandia Manifesto. You have to agree with their view of expatriatism which is in essence fakepatriatism. Or, if you will, not expatriatism at all.

If you are found lacking, like having a different opinion about expatriatism such as learning the language, Spanish, in order to call yourself a real expat, then you are attacked.

In my recent battle (and trust me it was all one sided, theirs, since I had far better things to do then watch them act out like pouty-lipped Jr.High kids,) the Gringos in Guanajuato were incapable (so it seemed) to read my blog entires "IN CONTEXT" to determine whether or not I was writing about them.

Americans, more than any other other nationality, seem unable to "get it."

For example, when I write about Gringolandians I am writing about a concept, an idea, a philosophy of expatriatism and not about any one individual. For that matter, about anyone singular or plural. I am writing about the differences between a true expat and a fakepat. If the Gringolandians concept, idea, or philosophy does not apply to you then why are you getting your undershorts all twisted into such a huge, unimaginable knot?

Here is what I mean when I blog about Gringlandians. Here is a good example of what a fakepat is:

" Can you tell me please the best store to stop at coming from the airport to
Finisterra? We don't need large quanties like Costco. Would like american
products like milk, chesse, fruit, beer...basic needs. I was told WalMart, does
this one have a food section?"

Note: This Fakepat mentions "beer" as a "basic need."

This is a born and bred gringolandian in all her American products glory!

n.b. ADMIN normally does not get involved in the discussions but happened to be signed in at the time this was read.

Beer is a basic need and if buying it near Finisterra I suggest getting plenty of ice as it would be warm by the time it got here. [and one should not take it on the bus - it should be in your checked bags but then the ice would melt and your clothes and other belongings would be soggy and the beer probably still warm by the time you got here]

You know as much as I don't like the places its better to get your suds locally on arrival at an OXXO (overpriced sure but always cold). That's why they locate them on four points of every corner. FEMSA learned that from Starbucks.

Doug, do you even know where Finisterra is?

More from the deluded mind of DB:

Am I so disreputable?
"I note that my enemies have written a great deal about me, yet they rarely quote me directly. Why not? If I am so disreputable myself, I must at least occasionally say disreputable things. Is it possible that what I say is more cogent than they like to admit?" -- Joe Sobran

It is obvious that you do not read our posts Doggie because it would become obvious that we are quoting you word for word. When will you give up?
