Looking for a good home
Looking for good home: this is Frida. We found her huddled and miserable outside of the Hotel Paseo de la Presa here in GTO, and unlike most of the strays around here, she was in pretty bad shape and seemed lost. We think someone might have dumped her. She's about 5-6 months old, and around 15-20lbs. I don't anticipate her getting much bigger if at all. She was suffering from a severe flea allergy dermatitis, and was bordering on a secondary infection. Now her fleas are gone, and after several weeks with baths, cones to stop her biting, decent food and some TLC, she's now nearly back at 100%, and thus we are looking for her forever home. Her fur is beginning to come back as her skin heals, and she will be vaccinated and spayed soon.
Let me tell you, this is one smart little cookie! We are learning basic obedience commands and leash behavior, and working on leash pottying on command. She is housebroken is as much as so long as she's got access to outside, she won't go in the house, but I can't guarantee that she'd hold it for long. She's good in the crate, and not food aggressive. She's super playful, loves our other dogs, and we are working on bite inhibition with excited nipping. I think because she spent much of her younger puppyhood miserable, she's making up for it now ?. Not tested with cats. She's a sensitive girl, and submissively tinkles from time to time but she will grow out of that as she learns to trust. She is so resilient and very responsive to corrections. We've been working hard to give her a solid foundation, and this girl deserves the best home. She's the perfect companion dog, and will wiggle her way up on your lap - guaranteed you'll fall in love. We did. She needs an experienced dog home only, only because she's sensitive and been through a lot already - she deserves a home that knows what they are doing with dogs. A home that will continue to socialize her, be patient with puppy behavior, and be willing to put in the time and money (including premium food and consistent uninterrupted flea prevention because of her sensitivity) to give her the best life. I will not let her go to an outdoor home, nor a home where she will be ignored. I would love for her to go to an expat home in the SMA/GTO area, or a family that provides the same level of care as pet culture dictates in the states. Please feel free to message me directly or reply here with any questions, and I would appreciate if locals could help spread the word. We aren't asking for an adoption fee or reimbursement. Just a good, stable home. Frida's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/frida_bandita/ |
