Performances of a new opera
A new opera, entitled Angela, Dante, and Umbria and written by the Italian composer Giancarlo Aquilanti, will be performed at the Teatro Juarez on September 3 and 5. (See attached poster for details.) The opera was commissioned by the University of Guanajuato and has been in rehearsal for the past six months. Though modern, the music is tonal and very beautiful. The student orchestra and singers have achieved a high level of performance under Maestro Aquilanti´s direction. I encourage everyone who enjoys classical music, and especially opera, to attend this event.
