Pardon the goofy question, but is it possible to find tomato paste in this marvelous city?

I found the Tomate Sauce is called Tomato Puro (I think that's what I bought LOL). It's in the cardboard box style container, which threw me off. I found it if I correctly recall, on or next to the isle with the paper towels in the Commercial. Not sure if I have seen the hard paste style stuff from the 8 oz cans or toothpaste tubes. You might have to go to Bonanza and look on your next trip to San Miguel.

Just for the record there is a tucked away Italian restaurant/ Gellataria just across the street from VIPS. It is not fancy but it is run by an Italian and has some of the best bolognase sauce I have tasted and some other very nice dishes. It is temporarily closed because he just got married and is on his honey moon. should reopen soon. It is also fun tom hear Spanish spoken with an Italian accent

H.E.B. update. Tomato PASTE is located in the Oriental aisle. At one end there is canned tomato section which includes two types of paste: Cento 170gr cans for 15.9 pesos and also the squeeze type. Then directly across the aisle is an H.E.B. "Organics" house brand with 170 gr cans at 14 pesos.

At the new [big] COSTCO they have a 12 pack of little cans at 105 pesos [8.75ea]

No, you'd need to take a taxi from the bus station -or, you'll like this, take an Oruga [caterpillar], the Optibus. If you know what to input on RutaDirecta you could get output like this: [the dotted path is a short walk from the bus station to Lopez Mateos] Note: fare is by pre-paid card.

RE: Salsa Italiana
Please explain more about the prepaid card. I've taken the Oruga a few times (not from the bus station but farther downtown) and just paid on the platform.
