Yall know by now that lack of shelf space in the new library necessitated
reducing the number of books in the broad category of Fiction. You can
now come get up to 5 books free to take home for your personal collection—
loads to choose from. PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ON TO OTHERS SINCE WE NEED TO LIBERATE THE SPACE SOON.

Categories of books now being sought for donation: art, psych, encyclopedia, atlas, classics, reference, dictionary, science.
Items for donations, please. A hat-coat rack, extension cord with breaker, scanner/printer combo or separate and a barcode reader.

To the library volunteer crew members:
Today Bob and i went through all the excess books and found a few that we could not see parting with for various reasons and shelved them. At the same time we saw numerous books that have already been shelved that we opined to be expendable for one reason or the other.

Only a suggestion: if you have time or inclination go through the excess
books and see if there are any that you think should be kept. As you
then sort and shelve them if you should see any books already categorized that you think are unneeded, please stack them so that other librarians can comment.

You will find many of the excess books on plastic shelves--just a temporary condition until those books are gone to new homes. Most of the excess books are in boxes under the table, a large number of hardbacks are on the table.
