Assault Alert

I understand that a big “game” in the U.S. is called Knockout. Several players go out on the street and at random pick a victim to knock out—just for fun. In some cases the action is videotaped and posted on the internet.

A local Gringo was assualted in this way last night. The blow to his face and eye did indeed knock him down and the young player ran away laughing. The odd thing is that the four of them did not look like the typical hoodie thug but were pretty obviously upper-crust kids.

Having been mugged by the easily spotted Gangstas around town I always keep an eye out for them. But now, in addition to the L.A. style, must be added the well-heeled group.

Any crimes against Americans should please be reported to me and/or the U.S. Embassy. You do not have to give your name but it is appreciated. The Embassy is endeavoring to keep statistics on crimes of any kind against Americanos.

Speaking of Kansas, take a look. This is not the only instance of 'knockout' in Kansas, either. http://www.kctv5.com/story/25023439/knoc...ansas-city

RE: Assault Alert
I am just ending my normal 6 months in The Trinity Alps of Northern California.
Trinity County has a population of less than 14,000 in one of California's largest in area counties. Largest town has under 4,000.
Most are friendly, kind folks but we still manage several murders a year along with assaults, strong arm robbery, burglaries, car hijackings & other crimes.
I'm afraid that's a World problem today------------or maybe it has always been.
As for me I feel as safe if not safer in most Mexican destinations especially Guanajuato. In almost 30 years of Mexican travel I have yet to be a victim of crime nor ever even felt frighten.
Maybe I'm just special! Smile

Actually this happened in Kansas City Missouri not Kansas.
Kansas City, Mo is Missouri's largest city not to be confused with Kansas City, Kansas a much smaller city across the river. (for the most part)

Peddler, yep, you're special. Not so, many others on this forum, and in many parts of Mexico have been robbed, assaulted, raped, abducted, and even killed. One should not have a false sense of security anywhere, but especially where one lives.

RE: Assault Alert
Gee Cam I guess I upset you so I do apologies as that certainly was not my intention.
I have lived in Chicago, Kansas City, San Francisco & Oakland.
I was never a victim at any of those places either.
Now my then GF now wife suffered a home invasion in SF so I do indeed know the anger/frustration of being a crime statistic.
My only point that I evidently did not express well is Sh#T happens everywhere which is why I am always alert.

RE: Assault Alert
There is at least one security camera near vips maybe it's worth trying to look at the recording and trying to identify the punks
