Cervantino - Alhondiga question
A friend in California is trying to use Ticketmaster to get seats for the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico on Monday 13 October. He is not having any luck - Ticketmaster doesn't actually say its sold out but it doesn't offer any tickets either.
In the image below is the "General" area refering only to the lower flat section with chairs and not to the steps which I believe are always Open Admission and no charge? Thanks.

RE: Cervantino - Alhondiga question
Hi Mr. Bill,
That's a very strange graphic for the Alhondiga! They sell about 200 general admission tickets for the folding chairs in front of the stage. They cost $70 pesos each, unnumbered, and are behind the first 15-20 rows of the "abono" seats (season pass for all events there). It's possible that Ticketmaster doesn't sell those tickets at all, or maybe they really are sold out already. Everything else above that is free admission, and depending how early you get in line, you could be up close, or in the very top bleachers. You can stop by the ticket office on the side of Teatro Juarez and ask/buy tickets. Or you can call the FIC office at 731-1161, and ask them for the ticket office number to ask what's happening -- sorry, I had it once but can't find it. Barbara P.S. to everybody else: There isn't a "sabana" (full-size, fold out program) this year, but this week they recently published an agenda/checkbook size program -- get yours, for free, at the taquilla before they run out! They are out of the books which describe each event, and won't get more until the beginning of October. |
