Do you know of a place in the Centro Historico that takes dead batteries?

at the Ayuntamiento in Plaza de la Paz, first room off to the left. You can also ask the reception person or security guard where to drop them off, as well.

The city building in Plaza de la Paz. Turn left once you're in the building and ask where to put them. From there, the batteries are sent to Irapuato where they are disposed of in an earth-friendly way. I've heard UG also has deposit "boxes" in all its buildings.
