Local Vets
I am moving to Guanajuato in 10 days (yay!), and I am looking for some advice regarding veterinarians. My cats need their teeth cleaned, and I'm not sure if I should get the cleaning done here in the US before I leave or do it once I get down to Guanajuato. I know it would be cheaper in Guanajuato, but I'm unfamiliar with the reputation of vets in Mexico.
Any advice is appreciated! |

RE: Local Vets
I have an excellent vet in Puentacillas about 10 minutes from the glorietta for the cuota to Leaon. He is called Oscar Montoya Hernandez. He speaks English pretty well because he worked in Texas as a vet for a few years after graduating UNAM in DF.
He provided excellent care to my cat, my dogs, dogs I rescued and to my horses who he is still in charge of since I returned to Canada for awhile. He is on the left hand side, just before the OXXO on the right after you take the Punticillas turn off of the highway to Juventino Rojas and San Miguel. He is a bit out of town but he has free parking in a lot right out front which makes it worth while and he himself is well worth the trip. Call first as he does large animal and companion animal vetting so he is sometimes out at a farm or a ranch but he tries to keep office hours of 10 - 3 and 5 - 8 Monday to Friday and until 3 on Saturdays. He also offers 24 hour emergency service. His cellular number is 473-101-8722 and his email is oscarmontoyamx at yahoo.com I took out the @ to confuse the web spiders. |
