Moving to Guanajuato, Gto - general
Hello,
I tried to find a thread about general FAQ type questions on moving to Mexico, and in particular, to Gto Capital. Specifically, wanted to get an idea of property price close to the Centro, and advice on the same (buying, where to buy, where to not buy, what to avoid, what to watch out for etc)? Also, wanted to find out how active the Expat community is for social activities like plays, theater, arts, movies, get together's, etc etc. What does one do to keep oneself busy/engaged in Guanajuato, Gto; after the initial euphoria of moving to a new place is over? Is the Guanajuato Gto expat community as active as the SMA expat community? If there is a forum already set up for this, please guide me. Thanks, Ali (ali@karim.net) |

RE: Moving to Guanajuato, Gto - general
Hi Ali,
My name is Martha Roberts. I am Mexican/American. After living in DC for forty years and married to an American, we decided to retire to Guanajuato since the end of 2005. I kid you not, we could not have made a better decision. We love it here. Our community is not as large as that of San Miguel but it is a wonderful community. We have a weekly Sunday breakfast that takes place at different locations. There are concerts, the symphony orchestra, the University of Guanajuato Ballet, and several other community social events to keep our lives busy. Below are four links that I thought you would find informative -- with the last one being Google translator. I do hope this is helpful. http://www.guanajuatocapital.com/ingles/index.html http://www.guanajuatocapital.gob.mx/sitionvo/index.php http://www.disfruteguanajuato.com.mx/como_llegar.html http://translate.google.com/# |
