I hate to sound stupid but Our newly completed home sits on the Panoramica but we have not been given a street number?? Our builder sent us to the constructions permitting office but they had no idea, or that I could understand. Our escritura describes the lot location as "Via Panoramica Tramo La Presa-Pipila", which seems to be sufficient for our property tax purposes and monthly bill deliveries from Telcel and CFE, neither of which uses the Correo to deliver. But now we want to get an actual number for mail and other needs. Where would one start? Is it a public works or city roads source, or the Post Office? Older homes 300 meters away have numbers. Any direction is greatly appreciated.

I never new that permission was needed to number a house in Mexico. The entire Republic is a nightmare of half- __ssed numbering.

What I would do is take a walk in the direction of the houses with numbers and first determine whether the numbers are going up or down in the direction of your house. Then I would start walking back to your house marking off imaginary lots that could one day have houses. Give each lot a number in sequence. Eventually you will arrive back at your house and you will have the correct number for your house, more or less. Put the number on your door and so it will be.

For a bit of fun you could just pick an existing number and add "bis" to it.
