How The Family Is Giving Back
Yesterday the Nieto-Sandoval family, who lost their home Feb 18th to a fire, coordinated our annual summer "Program for Confidence." Last year 134 marginalized children and teens participated in our swimming program. This requires the family built swimming pool in our rental home, chemicals, lots and lots of work by Jolene Gailey? and volunteers to run the program. Rocio, her sister, and her two older daughters made the weekly event a snap to keep kids happy and safe. So when the question is asked, what are family members doing to give back to the community for their new home, this is only one example.
The home is at the top now, We are working on the top cap to tie the entire structure together. As always, the roof is the most expensive aspect. All the materials to make the roof are $1,549 USD. Fortunately, there have been several $20-$50 donations flowing in the last few days to help make sure we can pay that bill on Friday. Our landlord has donated labor and that is going to help us a great deal. [url= https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cm...YHMHNJYW3E http://Click here if you can help. We are keeping our fingers crossed that a few more generous souls will help us buy the bathroom and kitchen fixtures. We have donated tile, but we need a toilet, sinks, electrical, and plumbing supplies. Tomorrow I will post photos of the roof cap. s soon as a small section of the roof is created (to allow protection from sun and/or rain), the old weak roof will be removed. Anyone having a garage sale, please email jzm@email.arizona.edu as we need beds, a twin, a bunk bed, and a double bed, plus other furniture. |
