Tragic Fire - Thank you and Update
Friends of Education, Opportunity, and Equality,
This is a ?Thank You? all for your generous donations of time, money, recycled items, and/or emotional support. On behalf of our indigenous neighbors who lost their home February 18th to a grass fire. We thank each of you for realizing that Education + Opportunity = Self-Sufficiency. Our mission in Central Mexico is to empower Mexicans here to find work here. We are doing everything in our power to educate and find opportunities to enable self-sufficiency and overcome hopelessness. Last month, one of our neighbors left for the USA to cross illegally. Minutes before he left our village, Jolene and I begged him to visit our friend Martha Roberts to obtain a legal visa; he did not. Now, he is in detention in the USA. His family is worse off then before he left to find work. Every one of you who has mailed a letter for us, sent us a donation, made a positive comment to another or back to us, or handed us some item to recycle is making the USA and Mexican economy more stable. We are emotionally empowering, and physically rewarding those who keep their kids in school and their parents working in Mexico. Understand this: each dollar or recycled item you donate is like a brick in a wall; you make our world a better place to live. You help the hopeless to have the confidence to walk taller and provide for their own families. We see the difference here every day because of YOU. Education + Opportunity = Self-Sufficiency Our Fire Relief Fund is growing. Twenty patrons have donated $1,820 and many significant recycled household items. This is our Fire Relief PayPal Button. It has been revised for just the Fire Relief. All our websites have general one. This is our website Contact us at jzm@email.arizona.edu for direct deposit banking information Our registered agent will also accept checks: Summerland, 2343 West Old Ajo Hwy, Tucson, AZ 85746-9113 We are a registered nonprofit in the USA and MX. Please feel free to email us or pass this along as you please. We welcome any questions, comments, or volunteer labor. Respectfully, Jacquie |
