dining  New Falafal Restaurant
I had a nice experience last night eating in a new Falafal restaurant in Calle Truco, right next to Truco 7. The menu is simple: 3 falafel, served in a folded-over flatbread with your choice of various combinations of vegetable garnish. The restaurant just opened yesterday, and our party of six were the very first customers!

The delightful owner (sorry, I didn't get her name) is very anxious to please in her new enterprise. The falafel were very flavorful, and all the vegetables crisp and fresh. All vegetarian and delicious. I will definitely return.

Indian Restaurant
Finally! The Indian restaurant in the large building in Bartillo is now serving comida inside. The atmosphere is relaxing, the owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about nutrition, and the food is all vegetarian and delicious. I have eaten there twice, and the taste, variety and balance both days were excellent. There are 3 different sizes of comidas. I got the cheapest one at $55 pesos, and it was plenty for me. It included soup, homemade bread, a small salad, rice or pasta, and main course. Yeah for another healthy choice in Guanajuato -- but let's keep supporting our old faithfuls who continue to offer good food -- Habibi, Colibri, Crustaceo Cascaruro, and Antigua.

RE: New Falafal Restaurant
Hi all,
It seems like a good place where you can taste your favorite food and enjoy it. I like to eat vegetarian during travel because it has low cholesterol and not spicy too.

That's great----a new falafel place---becuz the 1st and only time I ate at HABIBI, the falafel was mostly lettuce, old bread ( fell apart quickly ) and the falafel patties were raw inside. I love good ARABIC food---I'll have to give it a try. Thanks.

RE: New Falafal Restaurant
The falafel places are both good, but different. I think Habibi's falafels are moister and tastier and they also offer other dishes -- hummus, tabouli, and stuffed grape leaves. The new place next to Truco 7 makes their sandwiches in a taco shape, not rolled up. When I went there, both the falafels and the bread were dry, but they do have a better variety of veggies to put in the sandwich and a good tahini sauce. I don't like the lighting there -- it's too dark for me. I ate at Habibi last night and my sandwich and the lentil soup were delicious. The falafel wasn't dry and the bread didn't fall apart -- in fact I've never had a bad experience in the numerous times I've eaten at Habibi.

CamOO -- I think that your experience was unusual, and you should have told the cook when you were there that you weren't satisfied. or taken advantage of their offer here to make you another one.
