Theater workshop

I have a friend in San Miguel who is organizing a theater workshop there this August. The "Encuentro" is Aug 26 thru Sept 1 in San Miguel and he is trying to put together some of the best Mexican theatre artists with some of the best theatre artists from the foreign community. The purpose being to meet each other, and make contact with each other, and start a yearly (annual) Festival for all of us to develop and help each other through workshops and showing each other our skills and talents through productions that we produce at the Festival. We have started very late in getting this going, and we know it, so the Festival (we are all volunteers at the moment while we look for sponsorship) will be a "showcase" of a even bigger Festival next year.

Already we have Martin Casillas de Alba from D.F. from his Foro Shakespeare who is coming with 3 actors and will perform a staged 'reading" of A midsummer's Night Dream, and a one man show by Eberad Gonzolez (D.F). who will bring his touring Richard the Third. And from Queretareo the La Fabrica Theatre (Alonso Barea and Maria Aura) will be doing a week long workshop with actors "creating" a performance piece to be performed at the end of the Festival. Other performances , like a Play (in spanish) by Vacel Havel and others too numerous to mention in this first e-mail will be performed all week.

A big part of the Encuentro are the Talleres, from acting workshops to Directing to "improvisation' to "how to write a 10 minute play'! Over 10 or 12 workshops are currently being offered by professional instructors.
