I am so very sad to report that my good friend Luisa Lander passed away over the weekend. I, along with other friends, found her in her apartment late Sunday afternoon after being alerted by another friend who was worried because she had not had contact with her as expected over the weekend. She died of natural causes and there was no sign of forced entry or foul play. Her family has been notified and will be taking care of arrangements.
Luisa loved living in Guanajuato ? so much so that she became a naturalized Mexican citizen, much to her delight. She committed many hours to J?venes Adelante and spent Wednesdays at Buen Pastor teaching art. Luisa was active to the end, having just returned from Mexico City for her every six weeks visit. Guanajuato has lost a very enthusiastic citizen and I wanted you to know. |

Living Life Fully in Guanajuato Louise (Luisa) Lander putting her values into practice as she demonstrated to preserve the Bufa, a hill overlooking Guanajuato about a year ago. Louise, from New York, moved to Guanajuato a dozen years ago, built a good life, and died here suddenly last weekend. Posted to MEXIGUANA at 11/08/2011 02:28:00 PM |
