Mexican Independence History Lectures POSTPONED
In order to the best development of these Lectures, and owing to the fact that a minimum "presence confirmed" is needed, we must postpone this event.

Mexican Independence History Lectures

Mexico is preparing a big celebration in its 200th anniversary as an Independent Nation. But how did that begin? This five lectures are aimed to go through the differents periods of this important moment in Mexico?s history:
Lecture 1: Background: Colonial society
Thursday, September 23 th, 12:00 PM
Lecture 2: Origins: Did Mexico need it?
Thursday, September 30 th, 12:00PM
Lecture 3: Development: Main characters and blody battles
Thursday, October 7 th 12:00 PM
Lecture 4: Conclusion: was it worthed?
Thursday, October 14 th 12:00 PM
Lecture 5: Facing new challenges as a free country.
Thursday, October 21 th 12:00 PM

Each lecture will be 45 minutes lenght with 15 minutes for questions.
The lectures will take place at El Viejo Zagu?n.
Costs: $650.00 pesos (includes a coffee break)

Cony Marquez has a College?s Degree in History from Guanajuato?s State University and a MA in Art History from The National University of Mexico (UNAM). On the summer of 2009 earned a scholarship to study at UCLA with late Professor and Art Historian Albert Boime. She teaches at the History Department and Liberal Arts School in the Universidad de Guanajuato and is a Certified Tour Guide in English, French and Russian by the Mexican Bureau of Tourism. She has worked for more than ten years as a tour guide and instructor for several international agencies as Geronimo and Exploritas, formerly known as Elderhostel where she has participated in different programs as ?A Journey through Mayan History: Ancient Cities and Temples? and ?Mexico City: History, Art and Politics?. Her lectures are aimed to be fun, dynamics and talk provocative.
