I've used www.mercadolibre.com.mx for almost a dozen years. All but one transaction has been successful. I got burned on the other one and mercadolibre was of no help in sorting things out - but there was no big loss to worry about. I just made another purchase yesterday and among the payment options were various credit and debit cards and OXXO. The 'commission' associated with the OXXO was the lowest [10 pesos] so I selected that and a new page came up with an invoice with a bar code. I printed it out and went across the street and paid. I sent the payment info to the vendor and he replied that he had to wait for mercado to inform him. I went back to the site and learned it would take 24 hrs. to post. Later today I checked my account and it had posted and there was a message that I had 14 days to liberate a payment. This is the interesting part. mercado holds the money until the vendor ships te product and the buyer has received it and then liberates the payment. Pretty good protection for the buyer.
