Just back from a 39hour 30minute r/trip to Laredo. No one I spoke with on that side of the border thinks its safe to cross the bridge and head south. Checked various sources on the web and found US had 48,000+ murders in the last three years vs. MX's 30,000-and they don't even have a drug war - just recreational murder I guess.
