Dr. Atl
Just came across the striking paintings of volcanoes and landscapes by this Mexican artist who's real name was Gerardo Murillo. He was part of the public space mural movement in the 1920s, but fell in love with vulconlogy and became a respected and published expert in volcanoes, in addition to his bold paintings. He even lost his leg from his observations of the famous 1943 birth and eruption of Parcutin in Michoacan.

Would love to find a repro of any of the volcano series.

As a geologist I had to take a look myself.

...Would love to find a repro of any of the volcano series. Go see Karla Vera a young artist who has a studio on Paseo de la Presa a few shops down from Pollo Feliz. Next to the papeleria. Open from around 2pm to 7pm. Karla has original work, does reproductions, gives painting and drawing classes for 30 pesos and does framing.

Isn't this board great! Thanks for help and tips. BTW, Atl means water in Nahuatl, language of the Aztecs .
