Frame shop in Guanajuato? - yanajon - 12-28-2010
Hola Amigos,
Any tips on where I might get some artwork framed (and matted) here in Guanajuato? There was a shop in Plaza La Paz, but it has relocated (and was quite expensive) Any other options??

There is a carpenter at la Constancia who workes with old wood to make frames. His shop is located on the alley which is behind to the "no name bar" (formerly known as "bar 8"); also another reference to get to this place: is the alley where the restaurant called "el gallo pitagorico" is: when you get to the entrance of the restaurant keep walking to the right, the shop is right behind the parking place "la constancia".

There is a frame shop on Sostenes Rocha, just up the street (and on the same side) as Caf? Tal. They specialize in rustic framing, and did a very nice job of framing a copy of the M?xican declaration of independence for me. Expect them to be closed for comida in the afternoon.

See Jaime at "El Cometa" a couple hundred meters down Al?ndiga from "El Jard?n del Milagro". He does good work and is very reasonable.
