Wine Country - Aztecglitterbelle - 12-06-2010

Can anyone give me information about the vineyards around Aguacalientes? Guide book says go in any direction. Want specifics. Thx.

I wouldn't expect much from any wines from Aguascalientes -as far as I know they may just be brandy producers - and if there is wine just hope is above the quality of what is made in Queretero. The best of Mexican wines come from the Baja and Monte Xanic is the best of the best.

Why not drive a few more hours away than Aguascalients and head for Casa Madero [Image: img_logo_madero.gif]between Saltillo and Torreon. Its Mexico's oldest winery [410 years] and is located in the Pueblo Magico of Parras de la Fuente

And if you go don't miss Cuarto Ciengas which is nearby

Well, when I first went there, the first thing that came into my mind was the question why on earth they were called the vineyards as most of them were brandy producers. Besides, the quality of wines that we get from Aguascalientes is not as good as when compared to what we get from Baja and Monte Xanic!
