Solar Water Heaters - James Doran - 11-03-2019 I have heard that there is a program in GTO that subsidizes the acquisition and installation of a solar water heater for residences in the Centro, maybe other parts of the City, too. Does anyone here know which office and what agency I would check with to find out about this? James Doran WhatsApp of text 360-393-9506 jim@doranlegal.com RE: Solar Water Heaters - Mikel1 - 11-03-2019 I’d suggest contacting a Solar water heating vendor to see if they know of rebates or incentives offered. RE: Solar Water Heaters - wmeleney - 11-04-2019 Hi James, My host has one, I think. And he’s a lawyer, I’ll ask him and get back to you. Bill RE: Solar Water Heaters - James Doran - 11-06-2019 Thank you. I won't hold that against him. :) James RE: Solar Water Heaters - kimmy - 11-18-2019 The cost of solar water heaters has dropped by approx 50% in the past 10 years. I had a solar water heater installed at the beginning of this year and the savings in gas have been spectacular. We never run out of hot water. The cost of the heater including installation was 6,500 pesos. The company is Mexican and the brand we installed is Solemex. The company is Kiintec and the contact is Pablo Gustavo Bernardi. They are located right near the glorieta Santa Fé, on the Blvd Diego (used to be called El Nuevo Acceso). Cell number is 473 147 9692. They also sell solar cells for generating electricity. Highly recommend this investment--better for the environment and great for the pocketbook. It's been over a year since the last time I replaced my butane tank. RE: Solar Water Heaters - Sue100 - 11-19-2019 Kimmy and Robert: How do you find the water temperature regulation with your systems? The 2 places I've rented with solar water heating systems both had dangerously hot water that was almost impossible to regulate in the shower. RE: Solar Water Heaters - Mikel1 - 11-19-2019 Tempering valves are not common here, most homes have separate cold & hot faucets you have to adjust to get your preferred temp. As water drains from the solar heater while hot tap is on, new tinaco water goes into the solar heater. Gradually reducing the temp at the tap. Our fix: pressurized capable solar heaters, bomba, Bosch Balanz instant water heater that sense temp drop and use some gas heat to keep water temps constant. But this is in our house that we built, not an investment many landlords would make.
