We’re thinking of installing a security camera on our house for when we’re away. Any thoughts?

If you want to take the low-end approach, you can get an RCA outdoor camera from Radio Shack for 1,600 pesos. You also need to get a memory chip for it, which will cost around 100 pesos. 8 GB is sufficient, 16 GB is even better.

our security cameras were stole we did get good pictures of the crooks who took them but that didn't help

We use Nest cameras. They are easy to set up and you can monitor on your smart phone or computer.
Keep the exterior ones out of reach.
