We’ve enjoyed faultless service with DHL for international envelopes and packages. Europe is their sweet spot as it is a subsidiary of Deutsche Post.

I sent about $30 of stuff to Europe (from the US) via FedEx and about a month later after I had already negotiated the price of the shipping and closed out the deal, FedEx sent me a $45 "customs fee" bill well out of the window to bring up the issue with the person I shipped to. I would trust DHL before FedEx.
