Looking for private health insurance... - Blackpool - 06-20-2017
My wife and I are looking for private health insurance. I searched the threads here, and the responses seemed a little out of date. We've tried to go through someone at the Angeles Hospital in Leon about two months ago. He started the process, but hasn't followed up and will not return our calls. Obviously, we need to look at another option. We've already looked at the national options here in Mexico, but my wife has a pre-existing condition, so we need to look at private options. Thanks for any help you all can give.

I believe IMSS covers "pre-existing conditions" after the first year or two. It could be that not all conditions are included.

Thanks for your response. I checked IMSS site, and they won't allow anyone who has a prior "malignant" tumor. She had breast cancer, but is well now, with no return of the cancer. However, they apparently still consider that a pre-existing condition. We may have to go the Seguro Popular route, since they do not exclude people for pre-existing conditions. Thanks again.
