where to buy a gas heater? - dermotwa - 11-09-2016 Can someone tell me where i can buy a large gas heater in guanajuato? Also where can i refill gas tanks?..thanks RE: where to buy a gas heater? - The Duck - 11-10-2016 Depends on what you mean by large. There are seasonally ones like these that have three elements for 5,10 and 15k BTU output. Check Mega and Comercial [don’t go in the Spring as those tend to be returns which they go ahead and resell anyway] Priced around 2500 pesos. If not seen in GTO go to Home Depot in Leon or try MercadoLibre search for calentador de gas. The heaters do not come with tanks which are around 400-500MN. You can have a tank filled/refilled with the gas guy on your street which will require a 24hr turnaround [good idea to invest in a 2nd tank] or go out to the LPG station across from the Coke plant and Telmex RE: where to buy a gas heater? - pianoheat - 11-10-2016 Duck Do you own one of these ? Are they safe? no vent needed ? I was thinking of getting one but they scare me a little RE: where to buy a gas heater? - The Duck - 11-10-2016 Piano, I have had several of these over my 19 yrs in GTO [ugh, I am now in Thailand where we are shivering at 24C lovely!] Never had a problem with the these ventless heaters. [speaks to weather tightness of local constuction] I had a 5 unit vacation rental compound and used these heaters for all the guests and we also had twin babes that were warmed by them overnight [ the twins are now 6]. I liked the older models better as one could just turn them to OFF. On the newer, current models the only shut down is to turn the tank valve to off. They are good units as pictured in my 1st post. Another brand, DeLongii, has a thermostatic memory so you turn it up high and when the room temp is as you like you then lower the dial and it turns on/off to recover the room temp. The pilot stays lit. Problem with this model is thst the sheet metal tank enclosure is a bit small. |
