Map of Guanajuato City - JohnT1 - 04-12-2016 Hi. Does someone in GTO sell a city map (actual paper - remember that?) with substantial detail (especially street names)? Not the not-to-scale tourist map that's available for free, but a real map. Thanks. RE: Map of Guanajuato City - Izzenhood - 04-12-2016 Hopefully a local will have better info than this. I would like to know too. When I was there quite a while ago I searched high and low for a decent map. Of the 5 or so not to scale tourist maps that I gathered, one was much better that others and was usable. Of course I don't remember where I found it. So all I can say is to compare the free maps until you find the best. There was a government office on the left side of the street, on the way to the Mummy Museum. It was beyond the main road from Valenciana to Leon, which passes through Guanajuato, on the steeper portion of the street; left side going uphill. They had a professional map of the State of Guanajuato; maybe not a city map though. I see that you can order one online for $10.99 US at http://www.omnimap.com/catalog/int/mexico2.htm#p11 but I'm not sure whether it is digital or paper. Zooming in on the cover doesn't provide much of a clue as to the detail of the map. I wonder if the university has a surveying department or whether the geology department has produced a map. It wouldn't be to hard to do with today's GPS equipment. RE: Map of Guanajuato City - Victorian_Sue - 04-14-2016 You can pick up a good map at El Viejo Zagúan on Positos for 25 pesos. Once in a blue moon, some other locations also sell it, but Zagúan always seems to have it on hand. It is proportional and shows the callejón names as well as street names.
