Can someone please recommend a reliable housekeeper at a reasonable price?I live close to the pipila almost on the panoramica,above callejon del beso.What is the going rate per day? and per week?i may need her for a half day a few days a week?....if shes a good cook,and can shop for me that would be great...id appreciate any advice,thanks

I don't have a reference but my housekeeper charges 150pesos/day (I pay 200pesos a day as I get her to shop and cook for me and it felt more reasonable) and comes 2 days a week (she wanted to do 3 but I didn´t).
I bought a spanish cookbook and she cooks 1 récipe from that when she comes and sometimes does my shopping for me (although she isn't the greatest at that bit of it and often comes home with half the list or what she feels like)
make sure you write down and get her to sign whenever you give them money, in december you are meant to give them 1months pay (or portion depending on how many days a week they work and how much of the year they have worked). i have read lots of horror stories on it, i think when you leave/no longer need them, I have read of you having to pay 3 months redundancy, so write a contract if it's only for a short period. I have only read stories like this but I guess it is better to cover your bases, I have read that the government often sides with workers so just get everything in writing :)
