Jorge Ibarguengoitia is the first one (deservedly) to come to Raquel Castro's mind. Alas,he came to a tragic end in a plane crash at the Madrid airport in the 1950s.
I've seen an English version of his Maten al Leon in the MIQ bookstore.The characters talk Guanajuato-ese. I hope the translation is better than the stuffy summary on the back of the shrink-wrapped book.
