An Honest Report on Ecuador - Jzmackenzie - 11-11-2013
Due to health issues, my husband Don and I are going to Ecuador for a year. Don's doctors say that he requires a sea level atmosphere and warm, clean, oxygen-rich air year round. We found that in Ecuador during a recent five week visit, but that is a small part of why people normally travel or relocate to another country.
For the last six years, International Living has been heavily promoting Ecuador as the "#1 Place to Retire in the World." A recently published book has pointed out all the shortcomings of living in Ecuador. There is a middle ground!
Before we left for Ecuador, we read all we could find about the small South American country that is about the size of Colorado plus the Galapolas Islands. We also studied World Health Organization reports on air quality, etc.
After our visit, we recorded/photographed what we saw, heard, and read. We have it in a Power Point presentation. If you want to see the whole story, let us know, as a generous local couple are allowing us to meet for a pot luck and "show and tell" at their home November 21. We have only two spots still open for others to join us.
