Where to put a van during the Cervantes festival - Mainecoons - 08-24-2013
We've lived in Mexico for five years and are finally getting around to the Cervantes festival. We rented a house in Centro that, unfortunately, has absolutely no place to put a car. What we want to do is drive to the house, unload, then take the van to a secure parking facility somewhere on the outskirts that will give us a reasonable rate for a week. Then we'll cab it back to the house and use foot and taxis for the week.
Could anyone who lives there suggest a good parking garage away from the high rates of downtown? We'll be coming in on the toll road from Leon.

Hi,
A friend of mine parks her car in the parking garage at Mega (Plaza Pozuelos). It's easy to get a taxi to and from there, and you can park your car inside on the lower level. I don't know what the weekly rates are, but she pays about $550 pesos a month.
There's also an outdoor parking lot on Pastita, past the stadium, before the arches and the CFE office if you don't mind walking to/from that area.
