Driving Route to SLP & Nuevo Laredo? - Solo - 05-21-2013
I am looking for the best route to San Luis Potosi on my way to Nuevo Laredo. Basically, I am looking for the quickest way to get to MEX 57 North to SLP. Is it best to head over through Dolores, or go north from Silao up MEX 77/37 through San Felipe? I'd appreciate any info.

San Felipe is the best way. Even more than the Dolores H. route be sure to watch for small rock slides on the road. In case you are going at the end of the month, i too am driving that way (Laredo bound). Perhaps in tandem? --doyle

Yes,the San Felipe route is better and faster. You will however experience the record # of topes as you past thru one pueblo on the way. Cannot recall the name of the place near San Felipe, but there must be 1 tope per meter inside the town limits.

Every map I see seems to be a bit different, to clarify I do NOT take the turnoff for Leon but continue forward into Silao, then take 45 to 77, correct? Thanks again.

Let me try. Take toll road toward Leon, then continue rightward toward Leon not straight on into Silao, once onto 45 north you go only a short distance,maybe a mile? then just past a Pemex on your right will be the exit,clearly marked 77 toward San Felipe. If you pass McDonalds on right on 45 you have gone too far.tricky the first time but definitely best way to Texas.
