Hearing Gabriel Hernandez + bass player + drums last night at El Midi/ Casa 4 was great. Next to me, the OSUG principal flautist was snapping his fingers to the rhythm and soon was up and dancing with his partner; others followed. Several tables full (of vacationing Chilangos?) recognized a familiar song and led by the drummer started singing. I don't guarantee all this byplay at the more formal Gene Byron, but I wouldn't be surprised if, like me, you leave feeling decades younger.
