??travel insurance for non-US resident?? - raquelita - 07-03-2012

I'm not looking for biggies like medical evacuation, just something in place short-term for a trip I hope to take. The sticker seems to be that I'm not a US resident.Anyone have experience with a Mexican company or other lead?

Have you tried World Nomads?

Thanks Heather but World Nomads is expensive, perhaps because of its evacuation coverage.

I am a Mexican resident and citizen. I always buy travel insurance through Larry Berube a friend who lives in Seattle and also has a home in Mexico.

I buy the medical insurance when I travel to the US and Canada. I am not sure if that is what you are looking for but Larry can probably help you anyway.

He also handles insurance coverage for foreign cars in Mexico and Mexican vehicles in the US and Canada.

I've always found his prices very competitive and him to be very helpful. You can contact him at larry@aha-int.com by email or at this 800 phone number that works with skype or Magic Jack 800-AHA-1778.

Raquelita try here

[Image: logo.png] provides Short-Term Medical Insurance for U.S. citizens and foreign nationals who need temporary medical coverage while traveling for business or pleasure anywhere outside their country of citizenship.

"Home country" is defined as the country where an insured person(s) has his/her true, fixed and permanent home and principal establishment

I tried a quote for $50k on a 1 week trip for a 70 year old and with no deductible and it was only $100

I also tried a quote for my family of four for 6 weeks w/ a $500 d and it came to around $350 - far less than I spent for my son's one night in Alabama Children's Hospital - I wish I had found this site prior to our trip
