New and Improved Telmex DSL :huh: - kasugie - 03-14-2012
I received a promotional call from Telmex last night proclaiming our 5 MB/sec Infinitum DSL had been upgraded to 10 MB/sec gratis. To check out their claim this morning, with a direct ethernet connection to my router ( i.e. not WiFi), I opened a browser and connected to http://www.speedtest.net/ I then selected Telmex Queretaro as my test server. The following are the results:
Ping: 45 ms Download Speed: 5.15 Mbps Upload Speed 0.65 Mbps
Translated: Download speed has improved to support YouTube and non-HD video without stutter and frame loss. Upload speed barely sufficient to support Skype audio.

The upgrade happened about a month ago. I didn't receive the promotional call, just noticed on my own. Telmex did a "free" upgrade last year as well, also with no fanfare.
Isn't Telmex wonderful? :dodgy:
