I want to tell everyone about a great mechanic here in Guanajuato:

He has worked on my 26-year old Toyota mini-van twice, in anticipation of 1500 mile trips back to the States. I have never found a mechanic his equal anywhere. He has repaired problems that 3 different Toyota dealerships and a regular mechanic in the U.S. couldn't (or wouldn't) fix. He does everything from simple oil changes to body work to repairs on all sorts of vehicles. He doesn't do work without calling to first discuss it with you (so, no surprises), and at the end you get a fully itemized nota. He always saves any old replaced parts to show you. If your Spanish doesn't stretch to auto mechanics, he speaks English!
The shop is located on the free road from Marfil to Silao, just beyond the vivero.
