Just returned from my 2nd visit to Lake Zirahuen w/in the past four months and stayed at El Alto Lucero both times. What a fantastic get-away. Door-to-door is 3 1/2 hours from GTO and the tranquility of this casita at Lake Z is the perfect "base camp" for day trips to visit the artesenias of Michoacan. The house has all the amenities of home (and then some...I wish I had a dishwasher!!) and a to-die for view of the lake. Great deck with tables, chairs and a great BBQ. It's hard to tear yourself away from the view. If you're looking for a fun get-away that is close to it all (Patzcuaro is 30 minutes...and great restaurants on the lake open on weekends)...look no further. And Alejandra and Enrique are the perfect hosts.
