Life expectancy rates US- Canada- Mexico - louisarogers - 12-07-2011
I found some surprising data on life expectancy rates between the US, Canada and Mexico. Despite the perception of Mexico by Americans as highly underdeveloped, its life expectancy is only 2.1 years behind the US. But the largest difference is male expectancy rates between Canada and the US, 3.3 years.

Mexico 76.2 73.7 78.6
US 78.3 75.6 80.8
Canada 80.7 78.3 82.9
US - Mexico difference: 2.1 years average, 2.1 male, 2.2 female
US - Canada difference, 2.4 years average, 3.3 male, 2.1 female
Out of 194 countries cited, Canada was #11, US (matched by Cuba) #36, and Mexico #48

Australia was 81.2 78.9 83.6 coming in at no. 6
despite the plethora of dangerous animals!
A long life but not as interesting as here!
