I've been wondering about this so thanks to the original poster. Yes, prices here are high for people on middle-Mexican or lower incomes. Does anyone know how egg prices compare? And Jackie, I'm not doubting your sticker shock but note that those prices are in Mexican pesos.

Eggs are $1.50 a dozen in Texas. Avocados are $0.58 and mangos are 3/$0.99.
