Hiking and walking in and around Guanajuato

I am in Guanajuato until Aug 27. Salida del molino. I can read Spanish fairly well but spoken needs work. I manage fairly well and got to Valenciana on the bus this morning - I have my hiking boots with me and as I hike and walk in Toronto I am wondering if anything is happening l could join

You can join the facebook group SENDERISMO EN GUANAJUATO. This Monday night is "noche de la bufa" when many people climb up to the Bufa at dusk. There will be lots of people then, and the following day, but otherwise, I don't recommend hiking up there alone, or anywhere else at any time.

You might find people to hike with on a Facebook group called Lovers of Guanajuato.

Since you've gotten as far as Valenciana...

There's a park around the Presa de la Soledad that's good; don't know what the name of it is, but someone else here will.

You can continue on the bus to Santa Rosa de Lima, and from there, you can go in any direction, although you should take Barbara's advise about not going alone.

Not sure if I am responding correctly. Hope so as I don’t want to annoy anyone. I have attended two organ concerts and the rally race and only wish I could speak Spanish better. The buses are a bit of a challenge and I am figuring out others that I don’t use regularly. I look forward to the 9th and the festival in the main basilica

The ninth is a big deal. There are posters around the city. The Madonna changes her wardrobe. I think there is a procession. I lived in Italy for years and Sicily and I love these things. B the way. Folks can do a google search for Jacqueline Treloar and a bunch of stuff comes up. The zbufa walk tonight starts just below where I am staying. I won’t be going along but will be there to see what is happening. Thanks for letting me know about this J ?
