Fundraising event for earthquake victims
It's not over. Your support and donations are essential in the months ahead, and years to rebuild in southern Mexico.
A fun fundraising event sponsored by the students of the UG design school. They will also be collecting various items for the earthquake victims (see list on first photo).
The UG is sending psychologists to offer therapy, especially to children who are very sensitive and who need to overcome the trauma of seeing this type of natural disaster. They ask your cooperation to donate small toys such as stuffed animals (not too big) and any kind of teaching material such as modelling clay, markers, sheets of paper, crayons, coloring books, stories, etc. The collection will also be the day of the Evento de Solidaridad.

Keep these coming, Barbara.
FWIW, I've contributed to these two organizations:
September 7 earthquake: https://www.facebook.com/amigosdeliagoydelcfmab/
September 19 earthquake: http://www.topos.mx/ These people are highly recommended.

RE: Fundraising event for earthquake victims
Thanks for sharing those links, roberb7 (sorry I don't know your real name!)
In addition to this event and the BAFUG and OSUG shows which will donate the proceeds of the ticket sales to the earthquake victims, there's one more event I will post separately.
I don't have a car so and can't carry a lot of stuff, so I decided to give cash at the Musica de Mundo event on Saturday afternoon. It was a fun event, with great music and lots of good energy.
Before that, I also chose Global Giving to donate online because I couldn't log on to the Cruz Roja site. Global Giving does excellent work and has a 4 star rating from Charity Navigator, with 96% of the money going to the project and a 100% score for accountability and transparency. They are providing aid to both earthquake victims. I especially like this group because in addition to helping during the crisis of rescue and relief, they also have long term plans to help the victims. Here's the link. They also have projects for the hurricanes in Houston, Florida, Puerto Rico, refugees in Myanmar, and more.
