Advice on How High One can Build in GTO
I have been told by more than one person that the city allows buildings to rise up to but not beyond 7 meters. One person told me that 7 meter limit was in relation to the callejon the building was located on. Another thought all buildings anywhere, including on sloping lots below callejons, were limited to 7 meters high. Does anyone here have definitive knowledge about this? Thanks!!!

1) Five years ago we built a new house 3+ floors, on a severely sloping lot, probably 11-12 meters from lowest ground level to top of structure. Architect obtained permits so no direct involvement with regs or codes.
2) your source for definitive information is Desarollo Urbano office on Blvd. de Guanajuato. Plans are reviewed there, fees paid and permit issued.

Excellent. Thanks so much!
Did you hire an architect and were you happy with her or him?

RE: Advice on How High One can Build in GTO
We actually used an architect from another city in Mexico as he had designed a previous home for us. So the design was somewhat remote.
Here we used a contractor, very experienced builder who came with an excellent family-based crew. We first visited 3-4 of his prior projects, worked out costs and most importantly a payment schedule tied to completion milestones. We direct purchased much of the material.
Yes, we are pleased beyond words at the final product and how it came to be!
