Space Heaters
Wondering about the availability & estimated cost of a electric powered space heater for my bedroom.
Any Suggestions welcome Por Favor. |

Expect to pay around 1000 pesos for convection, ceramic or oil-filled electric heaters capable of easily heating a mid-sized room. Add on gadgets like timers, etc can send prices to 1500. Frequent use can jack your CFE bill, but they do get you warm. Mega, Ryyss ( or similar at Pozuelos). Full service hardwares in GTO also. Home Depot in Leon has large selection at best prices, but you gotta get there.

Since you are renting I suggest you check with you landlord to see if an electric heater is permitted. They are very expensive to run and should you exceed the kWh hours allowed on CFE's Tarifa1 and go onto the DAC it takes 6 months or so to get back to the subsidized rate - you'll be long gone but a 3x or so electric rate will be left in your wake. In my rentals I do not allow electric space heaters at all.

Just a thought. I would of course check with my Land Lord first.
I am taking a pair of Insulated underwear & two sweat suits for sleeping/lounging. Hopefully it will not be quite a schilly this January as last. |
